About the Project
This is a very personal project for a dear friend. She had this incredible idea to organize a 5/10k walk/run to benefit the Vascular Birthmark Foundation (VBF). Jody’s oldest daughter, Meghana, was born with a special birthmark on her cheek and chin. Months later, her birthmark was diagnosed as a port wine stain (PWS) – a kind of vascular birthmark. Jody immediately started her search for answers and came across the VBF. The VBF has not only provided her with answers but also with a sense of community and support system unlike any other.
Meghana currently receives laser treatments for her PWS, which cause her to have temporary purple polka dots on her face. The Purple Polka Dot Race’s mission is to raise awareness, encourage acceptance for all those out there who are also sporting their very own “purple polka dots”, and educate everyone about all things related to vascular birthmarks!
All of the funds raised by the Purple Polka Dot Race go directly to the VBF. Over the past 7 years, we have raised over $100,000 for the VBF. Every $500 raised helps one family attend the annual VBF conference for FREE!
Sean designed the perfect logo for the Purple Polka Dot Race! From concept to completion, Sean kept me involved in the entire process. The end result was a beautiful logo that we use on all of our social channels and t-shirts. Sean even went above and beyond for us and created a branding and usage guide for us. So grateful for his work!
